These prints act as documents bearing witness to monumental elements of infrastructure (in this case, radio transmission towers) that are present in the environment around me in Morgantown, WV. Using the aesthetic and medium of old taxonomic and scientific illustrations, the work shows these too-often-ignored objects as elements of the landscape that I am just now discovering, just now learning to see. The intent is to recontextualize infrastructure objects, that were designed with no interest in appeasing our culturally determined aesthetic tastes, as integral parts of the landscape.
